Message to the Voters
As you may know, I ran for Sheriff in 2018. I ran for Sheriff against a popular incumbent. Although we did not get the results we had hoped for, I left that campaign with an immense amount of optimism. Many of our fellow Putnam County residents contacted me after that race and asked that I not give up. They believed in our mission and vision for Putnam County and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. It’s now time to embrace that challenge and with your support, the future looks bright.
As a lifelong Putnam County resident and 26-year law enforcement officer, I have served Putnam County as well as eighteen surrounding counties as an Indiana State Agency law enforcement Field Supervisor and Master Instructor. This has afforded me the opportunity to evaluate the good, better and best of law enforcement practices not only in Putnam County but in eighteen neighboring counties as well. My pledge is to bring the “best of the best” to the citizens of Putnam County. In addition, twenty years as President of the Fraternal Order of Police has taught me the value of working with multiple agencies and the great things that can be accomplished when all of our agencies work seamlessly together.
My commitment is to Serve and Protect. Our children, families, neighbors and friends deserve nothing less than the very best. This is my pledge to the citizens of Putnam County; this is my commitment.
Sincerely,
Jerrod E. Baugh
Candidate for Putnam County Sheriff
